last night they where watching one where the girl was cheating on her husband with her obssesive boyfriend, and it was so cliche and bad and badly shot and WAAAAAAAH BOLLYWOOD DISHONORS US.

actually, there was one good movie which got so scary I couldn't watch (in canada)...but then it got really corny at the end. Wel,, the end the end was scary, but, yeah.

I read an article online about how in India they do $5,000 films that are rip-offs of American movies, like the Indian Spiderman and the Indian Superman and are painful to watch. Can't wait to see the Indian Matrix, though.

it's true; my parents are on an Indian movie spree and watched one a couple days ago, though I can't remember which one. They keep trying to relate them to real life and give me advice supported by them. You know what the bad part of this is? they're PHds. My dad teaches spanish lit. This doesn't mean that he's supposed to know anything about movies, but ?! you'd think he'd have more refined taste, ESP since these are the academics we're relying on for so much....not making indian movies, but it shows.

I went to an Indian wedding party once where there was supposed to be a feast, so I didn't eat anything for five hours before it. We got there at seven, they gave us little tiny appetizer thingie (that was UBER spicy, and I was eight so I hated it) and then they started the music. They played music from the top Bollywood movies starting in 1978 and going up to the present year. By the time we left (10:00) they were at 1983 and still no food. And by no food, I mean there wasn't any food in the kitchen being prepared, no food in the house, no food ANYWHERE! So we left cause I was complaining too much and we got chips and peas at a supermarket and ate that. Fun.

they didn't show the movies. They just sang the songs.

And my parents said the food was supposed to be really good (they had eaten there before)

DId the songs involve loose girls throwing themselves on guys?(seriously, in one movie the girl literally did this until the guy acquiesed. Though she was a Pakistany, who aren't portrayed very well in these movies. But there where alot of others who came close to that)

no, they had this one guy who sang all the songs.
And I couldn't really understand them . . . i don't speak Hindi.
